In and Out
Most adventures don't start this way. Most start in a tavern, with an overweight innkeeper and a voluptuous barmaid.
They don't start with two of the ugliest men on the planet holding your not so nimble-fingered rogue over an open flame. Usually it's one too many pockets and not enough pick, but in this case he actually got it. A nice old skeleton key, not much to look at, not really much street value, unless of course it belongs to a certain door. Well then, you've got yourself a prize.
Of course, old fingers there let it get lifted from his pocket just a block away from where he stole it.

Oh, and that certain door? Well I don't have a clue, but apparently those ugly gentlemen do. So when they're done roasting him, I suppose we are off on another unplanned quest to retrieve a key so old fingers there doesn't lose his other hand.
