Adventure Chef Winner: theLevitator shares last month's winning hook with us. Thanks Lev.
It's great to be back in Newfort! The village seems unchanged since you left a month ago, save for the peace and tranquility hanging over the village as a result your work clearing the Ortuk out of Dragen Hills. Everyone is treating you as heroes, as Newfort is even holding a feast in your honor!
The night is full of drinking, singing and laughter. As the evening draws to a close however, the mood changes suddenly as an elderly woman slowly limps into the feasthall. She is gaunt and appears to be bloodied. She takes a few steps into the feasthall and collapses. Clinging to consciousness, she manages to speak...
"The Ortuk.........they......took her from me. She is just a child......why? But I followed them I did.......I used the Old Ways to find them. They are camping out near an abandoned druid's grove. Please get her back for me. They are in the Muir Wood. It's very dense, but if you climb the first tree south of the path, you can see the grove in the center of the forest. When you find the grove, there is a wood sculpture of a deer that points the way to the druid's burial ground. It is there that you will find the ortuk, and gods willing, my grandaughter. They have assembled several cages filled with small children from our villages, and have 2 large carts loaded with a hoard of their ill-gotten gains. I don't know what they are planning, but many of our children are in danger. Please help me save my granddaughter and those children before it's too late!" As the woman finishes speaking, she falls unconscious from fatigue. All eyes are upon you and your friends as they await your decision.......
